User Guides
Master Wellew's powerful features. From AI-driven tracking to predictive analytics, here is how to reach your goals.
Settings and Profile (Top Right)
The Gear Icon is your hub for personalization. Use this section to:
- Access and update account details or personal data.
- Change your macro goals (Calories, Protein, Carbs, and Fat) as your fitness journey evolves.
- Manage notifications and integrate third-party wearable devices.
- Update your subscription and billing information.
Dashboard Navigation (Bottom Left)
The Sparkle icon acts as your "Home" button. No matter where you are in the app, tapping this icon instantly returns you to the main Today dashboard. Use this as a quick reset to see your daily progress at a glance.
Nutritional Overview (Center Card)
The four rings in the center of your screen represent your real-time nutrition tracker. It monitors your Calories, Carbs, Fat, and Protein as you log meals. Tap anywhere on the card to cycle through three distinct data views:
- Total Amount Left: Displays exactly how many calories and grams of each macro you have remaining (e.g., "165 left").
- Fraction: Shows your current intake against your daily target (e.g., "1/165").
- Percentage: Converts your intake into a percentage of your daily goal (e.g., "75%").
Smart Calendar and History (Top Center)
See your consistency at a glance with the interactive calendar:
- Daily Navigation: Swipe left or right on the dates to view past or future days.
- The Indicators: Small purple badges indicate the number of items logged for that day.
- Current Day: The solid purple circle represents the day currently being viewed.
- Expanding the View: Tap directly on the Month and Year title (e.g., "April 2026") to trigger a full-screen calendar overlay. Navigate months with the arrows and view consistency streaks via the dots under successful days.
The Smart Entry Hub (Bottom Center)
The search bar is a multi-functional tool designed for speed and accuracy:
- Database Search: Type the name of any brand, restaurant, or generic food. Tap a result to see nutritional data and add it to your meal.
- Magic AI Entry: Describe your meal in natural language (e.g., "I had two poached eggs on avocado toast"). Tap the Send icon, and the AI estimates portions and values instantly.
- Recents and Favorites: Tapping the search bar automatically brings up frequent foods.
- Hydration Tracker: Located at the top of the search interface. Use (+) and (-) to add water in set increments. The blue bar fills as you reach your daily goal.
Visual Logging (Bottom Right)
The Camera Icon is your shortcut to visual logging. Clicking this opens your camera to scan a barcode on a packaged product or use Image Recognition to identify food on your plate and estimate portions.
Meal Grouping
Your entries are automatically organized by the time of day (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner). This helps you identify eating patterns and see where you might be lacking specific macros.
Understanding the Food Entry Card
Each item you log creates a detailed card with:
- Visual Confirmation: A thumbnail image of the item.
- Quantity: The number of servings logged.
- Total Energy: The large number representing the caloric impact.
- Macro Breakdown: Color-coded letters provide a snapshot of Protein (P), Carbohydrates (C), and Fat (F).
Advanced Organization and Shortcuts
- Moving Entries: Press and hold a card. When the screen dims, drag the card to a different meal time drop zone.
- Delete (Swipe Left): Swipe from right to left on any card to reveal the Red Trash Icon. Tap to remove.
- Quick Add (Swipe Right): Swipe left to right to reveal the Green Plus (+) Icon. This clones an entry and adds it instantly to the current day—perfect for repeating meals from your history.
Editing: To make adjustments to any food you have already logged, simply tap on that item's Food Entry Card on your main dashboard. This will open up the detailed editing page, which features a clean, familiar nutrition label layout.
Core Page Navigation and Edits
- Go Back: Tap the back arrow in the top left corner to save your changes and return to the main dashboard.
- Edit the Name: Tap on the meal title at the top of the screen to rename the food item if needed.
- Adjust Time and Date: Tap on the logged time (for example: "Apr 25, 2026, Snack") to change the date or the meal category.
- Change Servings: Use the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons to increase or decrease the portion size you consumed.
- Add to Favorites: Tap the heart icon on the right side of the screen to add this specific item to your favorites list for faster future logging.
- Edit Amounts and Calories: You can directly override the nutritional facts. For example, tapping on the large Calories number will bring up the Edit Calories keypad. Type in your new amount and tap anywhere outside the box to save.
The Big Picture: Advanced Photo Controls
If you scroll up on the editing page, the interface will reveal the full picture you took or uploaded of the meal. Three floating action icons will appear at the top of the photo:
- The Thought Bubble: Tap this to add or edit personal notes about the entry (for example: "This meal made me feel really energized").
- The Refresh Icon: Tap this to take or upload a brand new photo for this specific entry.
- The Trash Icon: Tap this to delete the entire food entry from your daily log.
The Coach has a deep understanding of your habits. Every time you ask a question, the Coach automatically analyzes your recent food logs, water intake, and personal settings to provide an accurate response. It can:
- Identify Trends: Ask questions like "What do my trends look like this week?" to get an instant summary of your average intake and see specific days where you exceeded or stayed within your goals.
- Provide Encouragement: The Coach recognizes consistent habits and offers positive reinforcement to keep you motivated.
- Contextual Awareness: Because the Coach automatically reviews your data, it knows your history without you having to remind it.
You can chat with the Coach just like a real person to get instant guidance:
- Meal Planning: Ask for meal ideas based on your remaining macros for the day.
- Workout Guidance: While the Coach focuses on nutrition, it can offer general exercise suggestions. If you tell it your schedule (for example: "I only go to the gym on Tuesday and Friday"), it can suggest complementary activities like bodyweight routines for your off-days.
- Scope of Knowledge: To keep you on track, the Coach is designed to focus on your health and nutrition. If you ask unrelated questions (such as "What is the 2nd Pokemon?"), the Coach will politely redirect you back to your food and drink intake.
Sometimes typing out a meal is too much work. Use the Plus (+) icon in the chat bar to share visuals with your Coach:
- Take Photo: Snap a picture of your plate or a menu in real time.
- Photo Library: Upload an existing image from your phone.
- AI Insight: The Coach will analyze the photo to identify food items and provide you with the best options for logging them or fitting them into your daily budget.
Getting back to your dashboard is simple, with multiple options to suit your preference:
