Daily Food Log Cards
Food entries are grouped into four collapsible sections: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks. Tap any card header to expand or collapse it. To add an entry directly to a section, tap the + button on its header card. Swipe left on any logged item to delete it.
Date Navigation
Browse your history using the interactive calendar strip at the top. Swipe left or right to switch days instantly. Today is highlighted with a filled accent circle, and dates with logged meals display a small dot underneath.
Calming Animated Background
Shifting ambient gradients mimic natural light patterns throughout the day. This visual is designed to be battery-efficient; however, you can toggle it off in Settings → Appearance if you prefer a static background.
Tap the Summary tab at the top of the Home screen to view a visual breakdown of your daily macronutrients.
The Progress Rings
Three circular rings track your daily macro targets in real time:
- Protein (Green): Grams consumed toward your daily goal.
- Carbohydrates (Blue): Grams of carbs logged.
- Fat (Amber): Grams of fat logged.
- Calories (Center): A unified summary ring showing total daily energy progress.
Interacting with Rings
Tap any macro ring to expand it into a detailed progress sheet showing exact remaining targets and calorie splits. The rings fill clockwise as you log meals. If you exceed 100% of a target, the ring color shifts slightly to indicate the overflow.
The Streaks panel helps you build consistent habits by tracking consecutive logging days.
Streak Rules
Logging at least one food item on a calendar day keeps your streak active. Streaks update according to your local timezone, starting fresh at midnight. Missing a full day resets your active streak to zero, but your lifetime record is saved permanently.
Tracking Elements
Check your progress via these key stats:
- Active Streak (🔥): Your current consecutive tracking run.
- Best Streak: Your all-time record.
- Streak Calendar: A rolling 7-day mini-map showing green for logged days and grey for missed ones.
Reaching consistency milestones (such as 7, 14, 30, or 60 days) triggers milestone badges and celebratory support from your AI Coach.
Stay on top of your daily hydration goals with quick-tap water entries.
Logging Hydration
Under the central water droplet icon (💧), the status bar changes color as you log:
- Blue: Under 50% of your target.
- Green: 50% to 99% of your goal.
- Gold: 100% or more (goal met).
Tap the + button on the tracker to log with quick presets (250 mL, 500 mL, 1 L) or tap Custom to enter a specific volume. Change default units between liters and ounces in Settings.
7-Day Hydration History
Below the daily tracker, a vertical 7-day bar chart shows your weekly performance against a horizontal goal line. Bars are color-coded (blue below goal, green at goal). Tap any bar to view logs for that date.
Quickly reorganize your daily food timeline using drag-and-drop actions.
Within a Meal Category
Tap, hold, and drag the six-dot handle (⋮⋮) on the right of any food card to move it up or down in its current category (e.g., Breakfast).
Between Meal Categories
Touch, hold, and slide the six-dot handle (⋮⋮) of any food entry across category borders. The destination header (such as Lunch) highlights when it's ready to accept the item. Release to drop, and the macro subtotals for both categories recalculate instantly.
Category Headers & Undo Toast
You can also drag the category headers themselves to rearrange the order of your daily feed. If you make an accidental move, a temporary Undo toast appears at the bottom of the screen. Tap it within three seconds to revert your last change.
Learn about Wellew's dynamic visual transitions and space-saving layouts.
Collapsing Navigation Bar
To maximize screen space, the calendar navigation block smoothly slides up and fades as you scroll down your daily timeline, leaving a compact date badge in the top bar. Scrolling back up restores the full calendar bar.
Animated Gradient Highlights
Cards and progress meters use subtle animations to indicate logs and shifts in macros. If you prefer a completely static UI, toggle off these transitions under Settings → Appearance → Reduce Animations.
Modify already-logged items with custom serving sizes, dates, and detailed nutrient data.
Slide-In Editing Sheet
Tap any logged item card to open its detailed editing sheet. You can customize:
- Food Parameters: Edit names, select new meal categories, or adjust logged times.
- Serving Adjustments: Fine-tune weight measurements directly via the number pad, slide indicators, or using the plus (+) and minus (-) increment keys.
- Quick Add & Favorites: Tap the heart icon to save the item to your favorites lists.
- Inline Notes: Add personalized comments (e.g., brand names or prep details) to display inline inside your daily log.
- Photo Re-Analysis: For photo entries, tap Reanalyze to have Wellew re-evaluate the original photo with updated AI models.
- Deletion: Tap the trash icon at the bottom of the panel to remove the entry from your daily log.
The Coach has a deep understanding of your habits. Every time you ask a question, the Coach automatically analyzes your recent food logs, water intake, and personal settings to provide an accurate response. It can:
- Identify Trends: Ask questions like "What do my trends look like this week?" to get an instant summary of your average intake and see specific days where you exceeded or stayed within your goals.
- Provide Encouragement: The Coach recognizes consistent habits and offers positive reinforcement to keep you motivated.
- Contextual Awareness: Because the Coach automatically reviews your data, it knows your history without you having to remind it.
You can chat with the Coach just like a real person to get instant guidance:
- Meal Planning: Ask for meal ideas based on your remaining macros for the day.
- Workout Guidance: While the Coach focuses on nutrition, it can offer general exercise suggestions. If you tell it your schedule (for example: "I only go to the gym on Tuesday and Friday"), it can suggest complementary activities like bodyweight routines for your off-days.
- Scope of Knowledge: To keep you on track, the Coach is designed to focus on your health and nutrition. If you ask unrelated questions (such as "What is the 2nd Pokemon?"), the Coach will politely redirect you back to your food and drink intake.
Sometimes typing out a meal is too much work. Use the Plus (+) icon in the chat bar to share visuals with your Coach:
- Take Photo: Snap a picture of your plate or a menu in real time.
- Photo Library: Upload an existing image from your phone.
- AI Insight: The Coach will analyze the photo to identify food items and provide you with the best options for logging them or fitting them into your daily budget.
Getting back to your dashboard is simple, with multiple options to suit your preference:
- The Close Button (Top Right): Tap the X icon in the top right corner to instantly close the Coach and return to the Today dashboard.
- Home Shortcut (Bottom Left): Tap the Coffee icon to jump directly to your Today summary screen.
- Dashboard Shortcut (Bottom Left): Tap the Sparkle icon to go straight to your Nutrition Logging page.

The analytics dashboard outlines your metabolic macronutrient trends. These graphs update dynamically as new items are added to your daily timeline.
Macro Progress Charts
Three stacked, interactively scrollable area charts track daily nutrition:
- Protein Chart (Green): Daily collected protein grams.
- Carbohydrate Chart (Blue): Daily carb mass progress.
- Fat Chart (Amber): Daily fat accumulation metrics.
Each progress chart features a dashed baseline target line pulled directly from your onboarding goals, showing which days hit targets. Hovering or tapping individual points opens a micro-tooltip outlining raw quantities.
How to Access & Preset Ranges
Tap the Analytics tab on the bottom menu bar. By default, the trending blocks represent a rolling 7 Days. You can expand ranges using the dashboard headers to choose between 14 Days, 30 Days, or select custom dates for extended reviews. Gaps caused by missed logging dates are bridged with dashed trend lines to avoid fragmented charts.
Access predictive models that project your future weight metrics and long-term milestones.
Projected Weight Curves
By contrasting daily caloric intake against calculated BMR and active energy coefficients (TDEE), Wellew projects your trajectory curve over a 4, 8, or 12-week future horizon. This displays:
- Baseline Scale: Your initial weight metrics recorded when you first logged in.
- Current Status: Your last-recorded physical weight check.
- Trajectory Path: A LOESS-regression smoothed dashed projection line modeling weight over time.
- Milestone Date Estimation: Calculates the exact day you will reach your weight goal if current energy balances remain consistent.
Extended Analytics & Custom Ranges
Navigate to the Analytics tab to set target weights and see predictions recalculate instantly. Explore comparison charts (e.g., this month vs. last month), macro distribution donuts, and rolling averages (7, 14, or 30-day overlays) to filter out single-day fluctuations.
The Velocity section measures your rate of physical and nutritional change week-over-week, converting raw numbers into a clear momentum score.
Key Velocity Indicators
- Weight Velocity: The positive or negative change in scale metrics per week (e.g., -0.5 kg/week), marked by direction arrows.
- Calorie Velocity: The average daily caloric deficit or surplus over the active timeline.
- Macro Velocity: Percentage changes in macro splits week-over-week. Green arrows indicate progress toward targets, while red arrows indicate moving away.
- Trend Direction Badges: Dynamic markers labeling progress as Accelerating, Steady, or Slowing, calculated using second-derivative trends.
Data Prerequisites
Navigate to the Velocity section under Analytics. Each card features a sparkline reflecting a 4-week history. Note that velocity trends require a minimum of 14 consecutive days of logging; a placeholder will display while initial data is being gathered.
Below the primary trend charts, a specialized metric grid highlights daily habits, eating windows, and metabolic consistency.
1. Energy Rhythm
This card tracks the window between your first and last log of the day. It displays average hours (e.g., "10:15 AM – 7:30 PM, 9h 15m") along with a donut chart showing daytime vs. evening calories. Color codes: green (under 12 hours), amber (12–14 hours), and red (above 14 hours).
2. Water Intake
Tracks your 7-day average water consumption against your daily goal. It features a progress ring (green at ≥90%, amber at 50–89%, red below 50%) and a mini bar chart displaying daily progress relative to your target line.
3. Consistency Map
Shows the percentage of days in your selected range where you logged at least one meal. Uses a block heatmap (green for logged, hollow grey for empty) and shows your best logging streak.
4. Metabolic Rhythm (Caloric Variance)
Calculates the Coefficient of Variation (CV%) in your daily calories. Lower values (≤15%, green) mean steady intake, while higher values (above 25%, red) indicate erratic or "feast-or-famine" eating patterns. Points are mapped on a scatter plot against your daily goal line.
5. Macro Shift
Uses stacked bars to show week-over-week changes in macro splits. It highlights shifts in overall diet composition (such as rising protein and falling carbs) with direction indicators and numeric delta badges.
Wellew features two interactive buttons on each metric card to help you turn data insights into sustainable habits.
The FOCUS Action
Tapping the FOCUS button launches a short-term, 1–7 day focus target. The AI analyzes your recent logs and suggests a personalized challenge, such as limiting late-night eating or increasing afternoon hydration. Tapping Start Focus highlights the card with a progress ring, and you will receive a performance comparison at the end of the challenge.
The GOAL Action
Tapping the GOAL button sets a permanent or long-term target. Adjust your goals with sliders, set target completion dates, and track your progress with a circular countdown badge on the metric card.
FOCUS & GOAL Reference Options
| Metric Card | AI FOCUS Challenges | Long-term GOAL Target |
|---|---|---|
| Energy Rhythm | "Close eating window before 8 PM for 5 days" | Define customized window span (e.g., 10 h) |
| Water Intake | "Drink one extra glass with each meal today" | Set absolute daily fluid intake (e.g., 2.5 L) |
| Consistency | "Log breakfast every day this week" | Set target consistency (e.g., 90% over 30 days) |
| Metabolic Rhythm | "Aim for ±200 cal of your target for 3 days" | Set maximum variance limits (e.g., CV < 15%) |
| Macro Shift | "Increase protein by 10 g at dinner tonight" | Calibrate targeted macro splits in percentages |
